1. Using the calculators
You can use the calculators without registering. Calculations initially run in your browser. Your contact details and selected scenario are sent to our website when you submit a conversation request or request a PDF with an email code. Share only information you wish to use for this purpose; do not provide account credentials, identity documents or confidential files.
2. Information in an enquiry
We store your name, email, mobile number, language, meeting preference, submission time and consent. Company name and additional comments are optional. Calculator enquiries also include entered financial and business information, assumptions and the calculated assessment. This may include salary, wealth, debts, income, costs, valuations and reinvestment plans. Name, email and mobile are required to identify the enquiry and reach you personally; you may alternatively contact us directly by email.
3. Purposes and legal bases
Joel Schmid uses your information to handle the enquiry, prepare a conversation and contact you personally. This website does not subscribe you to marketing or newsletters. Where the GDPR applies, requested pre-contractual advice relies on Article 6(1)(b), explicit consent on (a), and secure operation and abuse prevention on (f). Legal obligations rely on (c). No automated decision producing legal or similarly significant effects is made.
4. Hosting, recipients and international processing
OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare provide the technical hosting and storage of enquiries. Technical providers may process data as necessary for operation, support and security. The infrastructure is international; processing may take place particularly in the United States and European Economic Area. Storage exclusively in Switzerland is not promised. The providers describe international transfers and safeguards in their privacy notices linked below. Contact us for information on the recipients and safeguards applicable to the specific processing. Specialist partners, including Capital Protect, do not automatically receive your enquiry; any sharing for an engagement is agreed separately.
5. Technical information and cookies
Hosting providers may process your IP address, access time, requested page, and browser and device information for delivery, diagnostics and security. The application includes no advertising trackers, analytics cookies or external fonts. Necessary hosting or sign-in cookies may be used. Time-limited counters with hashed email and IP references help prevent abuse; expired counters are cleared on subsequent requests. Calculator drafts are not placed in persistent browser storage.
6. Contact verification and reports
For a PDF or HTML report, you confirm your email address with a six-digit code. Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc.) sends the message and receives your email address and the code-message content, but neither your mobile number nor financial scenario. International processing, particularly in the United States, is possible; the provider’s privacy notice is linked below. We check the mobile number’s country code, length and mobile format. This confirms neither actual reachability nor ownership. No SMS is currently sent and no data is sent to Twilio. A necessary protected session cookie links the code and report to the same request for up to 30 minutes. The email code expires after ten minutes. We store code hashes, delivery and confirmation times, and attempt counters to prevent abuse; expired sessions are cleared on subsequent verification requests. Ordinary conversation requests require no code and trigger no automatic message.
7. Retention and security
Enquiries remain stored as long as necessary to handle them, maintain a resulting business relationship, protect legitimate claims or meet legal retention duties. The progress of the enquiry and subsequent contact determine this period. Data is then deleted or anonymised. Inbox access is restricted to the authorised owner account. Data is encrypted in transit; no online service can guarantee absolute security.
8. Your rights
You may request access, correction or deletion and withdraw consent for future processing. Where applicable, you have rights to restriction, portability and objection, particularly to processing based on legitimate interests. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing. Write to connect@jbschmidconsulting.com; we may request proportionate proof of identity to prevent unauthorised disclosure. You may complain to the Swiss FDPIC or the European supervisory authority responsible for you.
